    Bar question

I have the standard HP Tuners. We're in Nashville and a friend of mine just put a blower on his Z06 and took it to Knoxville to have it tuned professionally. He has a slight problem so the tuner sent us a config file and we did some logging Saturday at the track and sent it back and he then sent us a tweak to the original tune so I was going to write it out for him. I have a license for the year in question but the only thing I'm concerned about is that since he's boosting, do I have to have the 2 bar (or whatever) version it is to write out this tune? In other words - will it not let me write it or will it let me and then his car will be screwed up or is this a non-issue?

does he have a two bar tune in his car now? If not then it will be a non-issue.
It doesn't have to be perfect, it just needs to be done in two weeks...

I don't know but I though we you went the boost route that the 2 bar was needed since the values didn't go high enough in the standard version. Is there a way to tell?

read the file & look at the OS tab to see if any custom OS's have been applied.

Okay - understood. But what will it mean if they are? And my biggest question is - will it stop me or will it let me write it and screw up his car?

If there is a custom operating system applied you'd be best served to license & write it with that OS you pulled.

Okay - thanks for the information Bill. I want to make sure you know that I wasn't trying to skate around any licensing issue - I was just trying to help a friend out and I do have a license for that year but just don't totally understand all of the issues.

Na, I understand. It'll just be much more complex & less possible issues if you just license the file thats already in the pcm rather then doing a write entire with another one.

It was only going to be a "write calibration" to tweak the spark tables.
